Cakey Va Va Voom...

These are the cars and bikes I have made so far... each & every one a massive learning curve but great fun to make and they always create a fabulous reaction.

Ford Cosworth for the lover of all things Ford!!  Happy Birthday Chris! :)
The Ducati...
F1 for the racing fanatics out there... (another on order so check the blog in April for the unveiling!)
Awww... the beautifully endearing VW Beetle in fabulous orange (unfortunately flat tyres... I think I mentioned earlier the learning curve!?!) I want this car!!

Toy Story

I don't think I've met many people that don't love Toy Story, I love it!!
Toy Story 3 had me roaring and then reduced me to tears at the end!!
So hoping to do it justice I made this cake for my friends son, lovely Brandon, a huge Toy Story fan.

Boobs and more...

Since starting up The Coloured Bubble Cakery it has become clear to me just how much men love boobs!
In fact, its the one cake design I have made the most!
When it comes to the theme of the boobs the possibilities are endless... these boobs were to celebrate an Aston Villa Supporter's birthday...

but there are also the pretty boobs...
... the Valentines Day boobs...
... and the sexy boobs!!
And just a little something for the woman out there (not to scale)...
I feel I really should mention that this cake, I like to call it the Cock Cake was ordered for a male Liverpool supporter!!!  Apparently he saw the funny side!

A Very Womanly Carrot Cake...

My 1st ever carrot cake for a lady having to spend some time in hospital.

40th Wedding Anniversary of the Garden Variety

This was a cake for the parents of a lady I work with.
They were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary and their daughter suggested designing their cake around their love of gardening.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a photo of their own garden which meant I could include some of the actual features of their garden within the design.
This was my 1st attempt at figure modelling too!!
I was told that they loved the cake and have kept the figures of the two of them along with one of the wheel barrows in a box as a keep sake :)

The Luck of the Irish...

Its Race Week... YAY!!
for all those who may not understand, this week is Cheltenham Festival and a huge amount of irish descend on Cheltenham making it the place to be this week.
Of course along with race week comes one of my closet friends birthday, my lovely Cath.
A very special event indeed.
So this year, as more of a 'good luck for the races' than a 'Happy Birthday' I designed and made this cake for her.
Chocolate and nutella is her favourite, an easy decision there, the horse shoe and shamrock for luck and roses for a touch of beauty...

Mister Marijana

This cake was a real challenge but I was so pleased by the way it turned out.
The marijana leaf looks pretty simple, well at least that's what I thought when I set out to make this, but it soon became clear that I was wrong... again!
Each leaf segment contained a different flavour, Lemon sponge and lemon curd, Chocolate and nutella and vanilla and jam were used randomly and when it was cut I really couldn't recall which leaf would be which flavour!
I must mention that no marijana was harmed during the making of this cake!

Ziggy Plays Guitar...

I love this cake!!
One of my earlier cakey attempts for one of my closest friends eldest.
This cake was a monster, hence the strange foil covered board as I struggled to find a big enough cake board back then.
Its innerds were vanilla and jam & chocolate and nutella!  Its always great to surprise the kids with the flavour depending on where you get your slice from!

Ketchup Cake

This is one of my all time faves.  We all love ketchup and the old glass bottled Ketchup is almost iconic nowadays.
It was a birthday cake for a friends daughter who was turning 21 and still carries ketchup where ever she goes!
Rare steak and chips on the side, I've been told is her favourite meal to accompany her personal ketchup supply!!

The plan is...

So, now that I have my blog page, its time to get it updated with all my previous cakes so they are here for all to see.
Normal practice would be me uploading the cakes as they are made week by week but to catch up I'm afraid you will have to put up with lots of random uploads for a few days until I'm up to date!!!

This weeks cake is complete... the proof!

ok so I promised the picture of this weeks cake and here it is...
The party was a hit, sooo many people and some fabulous classic dancing tunes too!!  I do love a good dance :) so thanks for the invite Steve and Happy 40th Birthday!!

This weeks cake is complete...

phew, that was quite a week!
This week's cake involved 9 x A4 sized vanilla sponges so the baking alone was a big job!
It sits on a 20" cake board and weighs a ton!!
It's now finished and delivered and the birthday boy loves it so all that's left for me to do is doll myself up and join the party!
I'll be posting a photo asap I promise.
