HELP for HEROES

This cake was made to celebrate a fundraising event at my 'local'.
The guys walked The Donnington Way, a 62 mile walk linking the pubs of the Donnington Brewery in a circular path through rural Gloucestershire in aid of HELP for HEROES, so basically they got drunk whilst walking a very long way, I take my hat off to them, it would've felt like a lot more than 62 miles if I'd done it drunk and therefore in zig-zags!!
They raised a total of £4692 and the cake went down a treat.
Here's the cake and here's the proof too (just in case you don't believe me!).

Halloween Pumpkin

I made this cake for my next door neighbour last Halloween.  His kids loved it!  Carlisle the cat was modelled from their very own new kitten!!

Cakes on the Wonk...

Here are a selection of cakes that are designed to be wonky, rather than looking like I've done a poor job of keeping them upright!!!
This one was my very 1st wedding cake for Steve and Hilary!!

For the King of Homemade Preserves!!!

This cake was made for my friends father who is the homemade preserve extraordinaire!!
He loved his cake... we love his preserves!!!

For the Musically Minded

This cake was designed to celebrate lovely Dawn's 40th.
She had a colour theme of black, white and silver and wanted 2 tiers of musical notes...
Here's her cake...

Pokemon for 12 year old Jude!!!

Well, I've just got back from The Real China (or as my sister has been calling it all day... The Big Wok!) for a slap up 'more than you can eat' buffet to celebrate my little nephew Jude turning 12... I've had to put my elasticated waisted bottoms on since getting home... oops!
Anyhoo, as you may have already read, Jude requested a Pokemon cake for his birthday and so obviously, his wish is my command!
So here it is...
Some close ups for you...
Aggron
Bulbasaur
and Tepig (I think!)
Jude was really pleased... :)
And just in case any of you are wondering, this is how you cut a cake when you're 12!!
I think the random cutting has something to do with who wanted to eat which Pokemon!

In Other News...

The website is still under going discussions and design ideas but it's all moving in the right direction.
One day soon you may just log onto this page to find an amazing Coloured Bubble Cakery website...positive thinking Rach..........

Pokemon this week..!

He's 12!!!  Where have the years gone???
I don't think there is anything in life I have enjoyed more than watching my little nephew Jude grow up over the years and this year we celebrate him becoming 12!  Almost a teenager - uh oh!

This is the only cake I will be making this week, which is handy as he has requested a Pokemon cake and supplied me with a list of his favourite and seemingly most complicated Pokemon characters!

The cake has just come out of the oven and is cooling ready for decorating, plus there might be something a little different along with this cake... we'll see.

I'll get some photos of it up on here at the end of the week.

Mario...

Who doesn't love Mario???  Surely there isn't a soul in this world that doesn't have some fond memories of Mario Bros over the years.  And they've still got it, a cult classic in my eyes.
This cake was made for twin boys on there 10th birthday.

Mini Cakes...

These lovely little 3" mini cakes were made to celebrate Michelle's 40th.  She requested fairies, skulls, flowers and butterflies in Pink, black and purple and here they are...
These were my 1st attempt at mini cakes and although they are pretty fiddly to cover they are so cute once they are finished, the possibilities for decorating these are endless...!!!

Shane the Sheep!

I love this cake!  When I was asked to make a 'sheep chewing shamrock' cake I jumped at the chance!
He was so much fun to make, particularly his hair, made from thin sausages of white fondant twisted into curls.
I named him Shane and he is my friend :)

Guitar Hero... Warbeast Style

Well, what can I say?
Guitar Hero is such a popular game across the entire world that I shouldn't have been surprised when Ethans sister (originally blogged as girlfriend! Sorry Stacey!! :) ) requested a Warbeast cake for his 21st Birthday.
The cake itself is huge and took a massive amount of black airbrushing to get it jet black but it was worth it and loads of fun to make.

The Year of the 30th Birthdays...

It's bound to happen and there is no getting around it, this is the year that my school friends & I, one by one, reach the '30' mark!
Now personally I don't think this is a bad thing, I felt I needed to embrace a new decade and took the opportunity to take a look at my life and check on the direction I was heading, plus of course, more importantly it's a very good reason for a huge party!!
On the August bank holiday it was Michelle's turn to become a 30 year old and along with her friend Vicky celebrate with a party.  It was organised as a mini festival with live music and bunting so the cake needed to match...

Cake for the Fishermen (and women!)

My second fishing cake, this one to celebrate fishing enthusiast Tony's 70th birthday.

England FC

Now I've mentioned my niece Florence and her Hannah Montana birthday cake, well perhaps I should explain that it was also her very good friend Benjie's 7th birthday too this month and so there was a joint 'disco' party to celebrate.
Benjie loves his football, so much so in fact that his birthday present was to watch England play so of course he needed a cake as well and this is it...
Decoration created with some seriously steady hand painting!

Hannah Montana

This September my eldest niece Florence turned 7 so of course she needed the perfect cake for her party.
In true 7 year old girly style she requested Hannah Montana as her cakey theme!!
Obviously, not being 7 myself anymore I really didn't know alot about Hannah Montana so had to do a little bit of googling to familiarise myself.
Here is the finished cake, Florence and her friends loved it!!

Sex and the City

In January this year a prize draw was run on the Cakery facebook page.
To enter, all that was required was for people to 'like' the page - easy peasy lemon ssqueezy!
A name was pulled from the hat and the winner was awarded a cake for any occasion to be ordered in 2011.
Kristine from Cheltenham won the prize and this month claimed the cake for her birthday, she chose a Sex and the City theme and here it is...
There will be future promotions run through the facebook page, and again, to enter all you need to do is click 'like' so click that 'like' button if you haven't already and keep your eyes peeled for discounts, prize draws and cakey promotions :)
